A Southwestern Soiree
The setting for the evening embraced Round Top’s authenticity while intertwining Southwestern and Mexican influences that are part of the Texas landscape. Guests dined under the Texas stars, surrounded by lush greenery, leather accents, and carefully curated relics that were a nod to the week’s antique roots.
Succulents and statues gracefully wove through the tablescape, transforming the dining area into a living art installation thoughtfully curated by Transplant Floral. Mismatched chairs added to the collected, lived-in aesthetic, creating a sense of effortless charm and reinforcing the idea that everything harmoniously belonged in the pristine, natural setting. Above, custom ceiling installations within the canvas tent, crafted from hand-dyed, rich fabrics, created their own stunning art moment. These dramatic, fabric-driven designs completely transformed the space, adding depth and visual intrigue to the overall atmosphere.
Crafted to Perfection
Each guest was welcomed with a special gift—a Garza Marfa hand-spun, hand-woven scarf, elegantly draped over their chair, offering a touch of craft and charm. Additionally, guests received custom hats crafted by maker Sissy Light. They enjoyed a private shopping experience, where they personalized their hats with custom bands, creating a unique and memorable keepsake to take home. If there is an official accessory of Round Top, it’s the hat, and guests were treated to this local essential for shopping the fields.
Farm-to-Table Dining Experience
A true taste of Texas was on display at the table, where a farm-to-table menu of tacos and tapas took center stage. Guests had the privilege of being served by Chef Yann Nurry, the renowned artisan chef whose expertise and passion brought the flavors to life. Live fire cooking added an elemental touch, with dishes prepared right before guests, immersing them in the culinary experience. Lobster tacos, steak tacos, and decadent white truffle-infused creations elevated the meal, while vibrant ceviche stations encouraged interaction and added a fresh, lively element. A playful yet communal approach to dining fostered conversation and connection, perfectly embodying the spirit of the night.
The drinks for the evening featured handcrafted margaritas with Casa Dragones tequila, a perfect pairing for the lively evening. Meanwhile, the tortillas themselves carried a story with them and were inspired by Cassie’s travels in Mexico. The tortillas were branded using traditional Mexican techniques, and this subtle cultural detail added another layer of authenticity and craftsmanship to the night.
A Musical Connection
The evening’s entertainment was as intimate and intentional as the atmosphere itself, with William Beckmann, a talented singer-songwriter from Del Rio, delivering a private, unplugged performance that captivated every guest. His soulful melodies and heartfelt lyrics filled the air, creating a deeply personal experience that resonated with all in attendance. As he played, the connection between the artist and the audience was palpable, making for a truly unforgettable moment that perfectly complemented the evening’s relaxed and warm ambiance.
Beyond just a welcome night, this event was a showcase of artisanship—handcrafted menus with whip-stitched leather details, an artfully designed tablescape, locally inspired wraps, custom hats, and an unforgettable culinary experience. Every detail spoke to the level of design and craftsmanship that resonated with the designer guests in attendance. It wasn’t just an introduction to Round Top—it was an invitation to immerse, to connect, and to embrace the spirit of Texas in its most beautiful and authentic form.
